1924: Montreal beat Calgary 3-0 in Game Two of the Finals (played in Ottawa), to become the 1924 Stanley Cup Champions. Georges Vezina got the shutout as the Canadiens won their first Cup since the formation of the NHL in 1917-18.
1950: Bill Durnan recorded his 34th (and final) career shutout to lead the Canadiens to a 4-0 win over the Chicago Black Hawks.
1952: Maurice Richard scored twice and added an assist to lead the Canadiens to a 5-1 playoff win over the Boston Bruins, in Game One of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals. It was Richard's 8th straight game with a goal, tying his own NHL playoff record.
1954: Dickie Moore scored two goals and added four assists for an NHL record six points in an 8-1 playoff win over the Bruins, in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals. The playoff record lasted for 29 years.
1958: Phil Goyette scored a hat trick, and Maurice Richard had two goals and two assists as the Canadiens won 8-1 over the Detroit Red Wings, in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals.
1978: Ken Dryden recorded his 41st career shutout in the Canadiens' 5-0 win over the Capitals.
1980: Pierre Larouche became the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals with two different NHL teams. Number 50 with the Canadiens in an 8-4 win over Chicago, after previously scoring 53 goals for Pittsburgh in 1975-76. In the same game, Steve Shutt became the first player in NHL history to score a goal against 20 teams in one season.
