1928: The Montreal Canadiens became the 1st NHL team to end a season with consecutive shutouts, as George Hainsworth had his 13th of the year in a 4-0 win over the Ottawa Senators.
1942: Rookie defenseman Emile Bouchard scored the first goal of his NHL career to help the Canadiens to a 5-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings, in Game 2 of their Stanley Cup Quarter-Final playoff series.
1946: Toe Blake scored twice and added two assists in the Canadiens' 8-2 win over the Chicago Black Hawks, in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals.
1949: Rookie Gerry Plamondon scored a hat trick, including the winning goal at 2:59 of overtime, and an assist and Billy Reay had a goal and 3 assists as the Canadiens won 4-3 in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals against Detroit.
1955: Emile Bouchard established a new NHL record by playing in his 102nd career Stanley Cup game. Montreal won 3-1 over the Boston Bruins, in Game 2 of the Semi-Finals.
1968: Toe Blake became the second coach in history to win 500 career NHL games, when the Canadiens beat the Black Hawks, 7-2.
1971: "Jean Beliveau Night" was celebrated at the Forum in Montreal. The Canadiens won 5-3 over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers, with Beliveau picking up an assist.
1979: Guy Lafleur became the 7th player in franchise history to score 350 goals as a member of the Canadiens. The milestone came in a 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals.
1983: Rookie Guy Carbonneau scored his fifth shorthanded goal to tie an NHL rookie record, as the Canadiens won 5-3 over the Minnesota North Stars.
1990: Stephane Richer scored his 5th career hat trick, including his 50th goal of the season for the second time in his career. The Canadiens lost the game 7-4 to the Hartford Whalers.
