1943: Buddy O'Connor had his second 5-point night in two days, with his first career hat trick and 2 assists in a 13-4 Canadiens win against the Boston Bruins, in Montreal. One night earlier O'Connor had a goal and 4 assists in a 7-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

 

Rookie goalie Bill Durnan improved his career record to 9-0-1.

 

 

1948: Bill Durnan recorded his 20th career shutout in the Canadiens 3-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

 

1951: The Canadiens trade Norm Dussault to Chicoutimi (QMHL) for cash.

 

 

1953: Gerry McNeil recorded his second consecutive shutout to lead the Canadiens to a 1-0 win over the Red Wings at the Forum. It was the 26th shutout of McNeil's NHL career.

 

 

1968: Gump Worsley recorded his 36th career shutout to lead the Canadiens to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

 

 

1976: Steve Shutt scored his 5th career hat trick in the Canadiens' 9-5 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

 

 

1981: Montreal's Keith Acton scored his second career hat trick and added three assists, and Guy Lafleur had a goal and four assists as the Canadiens won 9-5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

 

 

1987: King Olav V of Norway watched from behind the Montreal bench, as the Canadiens beat the Devils 2-1 at the Forum. Bobby Smith and Chris Chelios each scored a goal and added an assist in the second period for Montreal.

 

 

2001: The Canadiens trade Martin Rucinsky and Benoit Brunet traded to the Dallas Stars for Donald Audette and Shaun Van Allen.
