1926: George Hainsworth made his first NHL appearance as the Montreal Canadiens lost, 4-1 to the Boston Bruins.
1950: Ken Mosdell had three assists to lead the Canadiens to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
1968: Jean Beliveau received two assists during a 3-3 tie against the Oakland Seals in Montreal. These raised his regular season career total to 597 assists, second only to Gordie Howe.
1974: Rookie Mario Tremblay scored his first career NHL goal, in a 4-4 Canadiens' tie against the New York Rangers.
1977: Ken Dryden became the third goaltender in franchise history to record 200 victories as a member of the Canadiens. The milestone came in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. Dryden became the 21st NHL goaltender to get 200 wins.
1992: The Canadiens defeated the Boston Bruins 6-3. Both teams tied a Canadiens record with 41 shots (MTL 20, BOS 21) in thesecond period.
1993: Steve Shutt and Guy Lapointe were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
1998: The Canadiens traded defensemen Dave Manson, Brad Brown and goaltender Jocelyn Thibault to the Chicago Blackhawks for goalie Jeff Hackett, defensemen Eric Weinrich, Alain Nasreddine and a fourth round pick in 1999.
