Guy Lafleur had 26 points in 14 playoff games, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy. Lafleur had the assist on the tying goal, after the Bruins’ Dallas Smith tried to kick the puck out of the corner and put it right out to Le Demon Blond.
Acting captain Serge Savard accepted the Cup from Clarence Campbell, while the injured Yvan Cournoyer celebrated on the ice in his civies. The Boston Garden crowd applauded as Savard skated around the ice with the Cup.
Below are some highlights (Radio Canada telecast) via YouTube. You’ll notice that Bruins’ Gerry Cheevers and Gary Doak leave the ice immediatley, not even staying to congratulate their opponents.
