1929: The Canadiens send Art Gagne and George Patterson to the Boston Bruins for cash. They also acquire Herb Gardiner from Boston in a cash deal.

 

1978: The Canadiens (and Ken Dryden) set team and goalie playoff records with their 10th straight victory in the Finals (dating back to 1973) as Guy Lafleur had a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over the Bruins, in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
