1944: Maurice Richard scored the first of his NHL-record three Stanley Cup Finals' hat tricks, in a 3-1 win over the Chicago Black Hawks, in Game Two of the Finals. The win was the second of four straight by the Canadiens over the Chicago.
1952: Paul Masnick, recalled that morning from the Cincinnati Mohawks (AHL), scored at 7:49 of the second overtime period, as Montreal evened the semi-final series at three games apiece with a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins.
1954: Dickie Moore scored a goal and added two assists in the first period as the Canadiens won 3-1 over the Detroit Red Wings, in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
1957: Maurice Richard tied Newsy Lalonde and Ted Lindsay for the NHL record with four goals in one Stanley Cup Finals' game, leading Montreal to 5-1 playoff win over Boston in Game 1. Montreal went on to win the Stanley Cup in five games.
1968: Montreal's Henri Richard played in his 100th career Stanley Cup playoff game as the Canadiens won 5-3 over the visiting Boston Bruins.
1974: Frank Mahovlich scored his 14th (and final) career NHL hat trick as the Canadiens won 6-2 against the Bruins.
1995: The Canadiens deal Paul DiPietro to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 4th round pick (Kim Stall) in 1996.
