1933: The Canadiens trade Stan McCabe to the Montreal Maroons for Paul Runge.

 

 

1947: Bill Durnan's 15th career shutout led the Canadiens to a 4-0 win over Detroit in Montreal.

 

 

1953: Paul Masnick picked up four assists to lead the Canadiens to a 7-2 win over the Bruins, at Boston.

 

1975: Yvan Cournoyer scored twice and added four assists, and Steve Shutt got his second career hat trick and two assists as the Canadiens won 9-3 against the visiting Washington Capitals.

 

 

1993: Jacques Demers coached his 750th career regular season game, a 4-3 Canadiens' win over the Vancouver Canucks.

 

 

1995: The Canadiens trade Patrick Roy and captain Mike Keane to the Colorado Avalanche in return for goaltender Jocelyn Thibault, forwards Martin Rucinsky, and Andrei Kovalenko.
