1924: The Montreal Canadiens send cash to to Saskatoon (WCHL) for Johnny Matz.

 

 

1933: Lorne Chabot recorded his third consecutive shutout (the 57th of his career) as Montreal won 1-0 over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

 

 

1938: The Canadiens trade Bob Gracie traded to the Chicago Black Hawks for cash.

 

1961: Jacques Plante became the 12th goaltender in NHL history to record 50 career shutouts, and Henri Richard scored a goal and added two assists as the Canadiens won 5-0 over the Boston Bruins, at the Forum.

 

 

1975: Ken Dryden recorded his 22nd career shutout to lead the Canadiens to a 4-0 win over the Atlanta Flames.

 

 

1992: Vince Damphousse scored his 5th career hat trick (and his first with Montreal) and added an assist to lead the Canadiens to a 6-1 win against the Hartford Whalers. Guy Carbonneau assisted on a goal for his 500th NHL point.
