1970: The Canadiens trade Ernie Hicke and their 1st pick in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft (Chris Oddleifson) to the Oakland Seals for Francois Lacombe, cash and a first round draft choice in 1971. The Canadiens used the pick one year later to select Guy Lafleur.
The Canadiens also dealt Lucien Grenier, Larry Mickey and Jack Norris to the Los Angeles Kings for Leon Rochefort, Gregg Boddy and Wayne Thomas. Chris Bordeleau was traded to St. Louis Blues for cash, Jude Drouin was sent to the Minnesota North Stars for future considerations (Bill Collins) and Dennis Hextall was also sent to Oakland in a cash deal.
1986: The Montreal Canadiens became the first team to win 100 games in the Stanley Cup Finals, and the first NHL team to win 10 home games in one playoff year, with a 1-0 win over the Calgary Flames, in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Rookie Patrick Roy recorded his first career playoff shutout and and Claude Lemieux set a rookie record with his 4th game winning goal of the '86 post season.
