Canadiens GM Frank Selke was born on this day in 1893 (Photo David Bier.CHC)

 

 

1968: Rookie defenseman Serge Savard scored his first career playoff goal, a shorthanded tally early in the 3rd period, and Gump Worsley had his 4th career playoff shutout, to give Montreal a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Blues, in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Finals.

 

1989: Patrick Roy recorded his third career playoff shutout as the Canadiens scored three times in the second period for a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, in Game 4 of the Wales Conference Finals.
