Today in Habs History: April 30th Edition

 

1945: Howie Morenz and Georges Vezina are the first Canadiens players elected into the inaugural Hockey Hall of Fame class.

1977: Ken Dryden recorded his third shutout of the 1977 playoffs (and the 7th of his playoff career) and Steve Shutt had two goals and an assist as the Canadiens won 4-0 against the Islanders in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals.

 

1997: Mario Tremblay announced his resignation as Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens, after two seasons behind the bench.
